I have a 2022 PHEV in Canada. Looking at installing level 2 wiring in my garage.
Electrician needs some info to know what size of breaker will be required.
Dealer can't tell me. They told me to talk to Hyundai Canada.
I e-mailed Hyundai Canada and they said they couldn't help and I should talk to the dealer.
The electrician said he need the maximum charge current or the max charge power to calculate the current so he can size the breaker and wiring required.
Any ideas?

You might try other Hyundai dealerships, one should be able to provide an intelligent answer.

When the vehicle runs out of gas, we bring a can of gasoline.

Did they ever tell you what they would bring aside from a wrecker (tow truck or flat bed ) if the battery no longer worked on the road?

 

Other forums have given me some ideas about the charge current.
As for a battery fail. There is a mechanical connection between the engine and the front wheels. If the battery or the electric drive systen fails the engine can drive the front wheels.

 

Most PHEVs utilize the ICE to charge the battery or assist with addl power when needed, but not that sure about that direct connection of the engine to drive the vehicle.
