Unhappy Do I need to replace TPM unit on my 2013 Sonata wheel?

I ran against a curb and broke the tire valve extension off a wheel on my 2013 Sonala. The valve stem broke off and the tire is flat. Called a local tire repair shop to see if they could simply replace the valve and they said they would have to replace the entire TPM unit in the wheel as the external valve could not be replaced. Estimate is about $150 incl. labor. This is nuts! Anyone else tried to get a new tire valve without replacing the TPM unit? Your advice would be appreciated.

Find a better tire place. The valve stem is separate for the sensor itself. It is replaceable.

This isn't a Hyundai sensor but similar:

Here's a Hyundai/Kia sensor:
