Default Engine not starting

Hello everyone

I have a 2008 Sante Fe. No serious issues thus far thankfully but obvs she’s getting on a bit with off the top of my head 155142 km on the clock.

Saturday started as normal but for a split second, something sounded different. Drove to work and parked up. Finished shift and went to drive off and engine would not turn over. Radio still working, side lights, back lights and interior lights but no electric windows or windscreen wipers.

AA man was flummoxed; tested battery and relay/fuses etc but could not diagnose issue. Car now in garage.

Any thoughts on what could have happened?

PS Patrolman got me to do a tow start so I was able to drive to the garage and thankfully, the car did not stall but would not start again once ignition turned off.

No crank? did you check starter fuse? if its ok could be a bad starter or ground wire.

It might have an issue with the starter system or electrical connections. Given that the car starts with a tow but won’t start normally, the problem could be with the starter motor, battery connections, ignition switch, or neutral safety switch. Since the car is in the garage, the mechanic should be able to diagnose it more thoroughly.
