Had new fuel pump installed in ‘07 Santa Fe. New pump included new fuel filter. Immediately after installation a low and consistent humming noise is now heard coming from the new fuel pump. Humming noise does not increase with acceleration but a steady drone. Other than humming noise vehicle runs fine. Any diagnostics or recommendations are appreciated which would stop humming noise ?? Additional question.....though pump is new could it be faulty ? Thanks for replies

 

New pump should not be noisy.

I would take the vehicle back and have the repair shop get rid of the noise.

It could be a cheap pump or something in the installation allowing pump noise to be heard when it should not be.
