2002 Accent fuel pressure regulator location?
So I have been trying to figure out this problem on my friends 2002 Accent with the 1.6 motor. Sometimes it starts right up and other times it takes a handful of times. Sometimes he has to spray starting fluid in the throttle body and it will start.
I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter last year but those werent the issues. I just replaced the fuel filter again today because it was due for it again, and he ordered a fuel pressure regulator when he got the filter.
The problem is that I dont know if the regulator is in the fuel tank with the pump, or in the engine compartment. I've tried looking online but some people said in the fuel tank with the pump, and others said on the fuel rail in the engine compartment.
I really want to get this fixed for him. He's one of the nicest guys you would ever meet but this car has been a nightmare for him and I feel bad.
Please help

Sometimes the problem is not the flow of fuel but the pressure built up for the injectors to fire properly
Changing fuel pump sometimes will cause a no start condition when all of the O rings and seals are not put on the new pump
Checking the flow of the fuel from the new pump isn't enough
Last I heard, the fuel pressure regulator is next to the fuel pump .. in the tank

Thats what im afraid of. Would I need to tear down the whole plastic housing or can I just fish the regulator out of the middle?.
