First post here but am a member of several similar forums. 2006 Accent 96000 miles automatic. I did a search but could not find an answer. Before I purchase a new key fob I have a question. The fob worked when we got the car but then stopped working. Figuring the battery was dead on the fob so I bought and installed a new one. Still did not work. When you push the lock / unlock buttons the red light on the fob flashes. Then I remembered that the car battery ran dead the other day so I googled instructions on how to reset the fob. Key on ACC and held the unlock button on. Still no work. I then tried this procedure with the lock button. Still no work. Does anyone have a solution, or is there another reset procedure I can try. Just want to be sure before I buy another fob. Lastly, will a new fob require programming at a dealer or locksmith?

There are times when we need to verify what we do.
Are we sure the battery that was installed in the FOB was good?
Someone should check that and make sure that is not overlooked.

 

Brand new battery installed exactly like the old one came out. I checked the new battery and it tested good. Pretty straightforward

 

I asked locksmith fort worth to change the battery and after replacement of battery it works fine.
