Default 04 wont start not battery?

here is the problem; car wouldn't start, ok dead battery, jump car starts right up. I drive around the parking lot for about 5 min to make sure its not the alternator. car shuts off while trying to back into a spot. ok now probably the alternator. so I get a new battery in hopes of the car just making it home on battery. go to start car after new battery and all accessories come on, light, ac, fan, all good to go when key in on position. turn it to acc position and everything starts flickering and don't hear starter clicking or anything. turn to start position and every thing goes completely off. didn't have any one to try and jump this time but battery is good putting out 12.5v and terminal connections are clean. Any thoughts?

2004, possible 2003 production date, how long did battery sit on pallet before install to car when built ... due for new battery.

Now you need to learn how to use a DVOM... probe battery terminals, should have source voltage (12V)... now start engine.

With engine running, you should see charging voltage (upward of 14.3 0 14.5) at battery,, move positive tesst lead to post on rear of alternator, voltage should closely match what you found at battery.

Put leads back on battery, and slowly start adding loads...headlights, wipers, HVAV fan, hazard flashers.. if voltage drops like rock, alternator not keeping up.
