Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default 2018 Elantra HVAC

I have AUTO climate control in my 2018 Elantra Value Edition. I noticed today (90 degrees) that when I turn on AC and turn temp to full LOW setting AC temp does not feel too cold. When I press AUTO switch and set to 68 air blows harder and colder. Also noticed AC indicator light goes out. Is this normal. Shouldnt it be lit indicating compressor is running? Even if I am not in AUTO mode and I set temp to lowest and fan to highest speed (yes I have it in recirculate also) shouldn't it blow the hardest and colder then me setting AUTO to 68degrees? Not sure if something is wrong or I am setting something incorrectly. Thanks

They might have redesigned the A/C operation and the lite is supposed to go out .
I would check with your dealership service dept. They might be aware if anything was changed. What does your owner's manual say regarding the operation of the system ?
Most of the time the lite just indicates A/C is requested.

I read the manual and there is no mention of it going off when in AUTO mode. Apparently I read they made changes that may cause toheblower to speed up or slow down under certain load conditions. Also the recirculate button will turn off after a certain amount of time if the roof is opened. Very confusing. If I do not have it set at AUTO I wanthe settings including temp and blower speed to stay where I set them.

Might be a good idea to get the problem registered with the dealer so up the road if it gets worse your warranty might cover it.
