altenator removal/replacement
Hi
I have a 2001 hyundai Elantra GLS-I was wondering how is the best was to remove/install an altenator in this 4 cldr.-can I just disconnect the electrical wires/loosen the bolds and remove the spin-on oil filter and drop the alt. down-or do I have to do something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra and changed my alternator. I had to disconnect the negative battery cable, jack the car, put it on stands, drain the oil, remove the oil filter, loosen the tension bolt on the alternator, take slack out of belt, take belt off the alternator, remove connections from alternator, loosen and remove all bolts that connect the alternator to the bracket. I then could remove the alternator. Replace is in the reverse order. Good luck!
