Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Exclamation Electrical Problems with 2004 Elantra

Ok so I made a mistake and plugged in this "myrate" thing into my car for my insurance and now my radio, clock, interior lights, auto locks and car alarm stopped working. I've checked the all of fuses (inside the car and under the hood) and they are all fine. I took the "myrate" thing out and sent it back to the insurance company telling them it messed up my car. Now I'm stuck driving in silence and in the dark. Does anybody out there have an idea what the issue could be? Please help!!!

There are a couple of integrated circuit boards, especially the body control module that could have been affected. Try disconnecting the ground lead on the battery for about an hour or overnight. If the situation hasn't changed when you reconnect, the car likely needs to be seen by a dealer or a automotive electric shop.

So what is this "myrate" thing suppose to so do beside fry electronics?

Default MyRate thing

The MyRate thing is a device from Progressive Insurance Company to monitor your driving pattern in the hopes your insurance rate will go down. You plug it into the same place automotive places plug into for emission testing. Again, it was the worst thing I could have ever done to get a discount on my auto insurance. I'll try disconnecting the battery overnight so keep your fingers crossed! Thanks for your help!
