Default Rear Brake problem HELP

So I am in the process of installing the rear pads in my gf's GT. I have the special tool and have spun the piston in the caliper around quite a few times but it won't seem to go back in. I have duralast pads.

How many times does it take to spin it back in? I am having some seroius issues with this.

How much clearance over the pads should the caliper have once installed?

HELP

OK I figured it out. Thing is a bitch though, probably would have been a lot easier to bleed the brakes.

Strange, still don't know why it went in, a mix of pressure and turning got it in there. Probably a strange clutch in there.

which tool did you use? The regular push in one or the one that comes as a set with little holes in them?

He said he spun it so I think he was doing it the right way. I can only guess that it was friction or something.
