Default turbo on an automatic..?

Does anyone know how well a turbo works on an automatic transmission? I've been looking through alpine developments and was considering the turbo they offer for the 03 elantra, but I usually only hear of turbo's on manual transmissions..

Default RE: turbo on an automatic..?

You can definitely put a turbo on an automatic, the only reason you hear about them more on manuals is because with a manual u control when you shift and obviously, u dont on an automatic. What im trying to say is that you don't get all the power out of a turbo on an automatic because it shifts before its band of power is used up. plus u have 4 gears. instead of the 5 or even 6 on manuals. You do get better gas mileage if you don't drive like an a$$ and it will definitely be faster, even faster than a non turboed manual.
