I just remove the frame pan & use a piece of cardboard to direct the flow.

Everything is slow below zero . I don't have to deal with that anymore. Where I live now, they think 25 is "bitter cold". I call it sweater weather.

My 2010 SE is a year old this month and I dropped it off today to fix the fuel door and try to solve the 5spd shifter buzz.

Anyway I cleared the average mpg for the first time. It had been pretty much locked in at 34.1 mpg for the last several weeks. It droped about 1.5 mpg over the winter. I have a couple days of commuting since I cleared it and it is running about 36.5.

I was hoping to get very close to 40 with it when I bought it and now with the $3.60/gal prices that would be nice. Still not too bad however and I am happy with it.

I cannot believe that I still enjoy driving it so much. I used to dread the road trips for work, now I want to go. I am getting what others report on the highway, but I'm getting 26-29 in town. I will add that I do not drive very conservatively, mainly because the car is way too fun to drive. I was pleasantly surprised by the in town mileage.
Just noticed the AM on my radio doing the same thing. I know this is an old post, just wondering if anyone else is seeing this. Have to slap the dash to clear the static.

Thanks for the oil drain idea..

my 2012 ET is 5 months old and already had 7200 miles.. (lets see, from denver, two trips to Moab, a trip to Sedona and a trip to Durango)..

Overall very happy, was supposed to get 23/31 (5 speed), I really wanted the new Accent, but it was just too small (2 kids)..

So far my worst tank has been 27 mpg, but usually average right around 30 in mixed driving. Best tank was 37 (denver to Moab), but typical hiway mpg has been 34-35.

I used to have a Vibe and loved it, this gets about the exact same mileage and its a touch bigger. pleasantly surprised by the gas mileage! Great, basic transportation, right size, price was great, warranty can't be beat, seems like a no brainer to me..

Welcome to the forum. What year Vibe did you have? I had a 2003 and loved it (I still miss it a little).

I had an 05.. drove it from 35k to 105k trouble free (minus the basics, brakes, battery).. hoping the ET is as reliable or close. I did buy an extended warranty to cover me to 100k.. not sure if that was a good move or not, but will find out..
