So I went to check/adjust the tire pressure on my mom's '11 ET and based on the "common knowledge" that tires should be inflated to their maximum rated psi, I topped them (orig tires, only 6500k) to 44 psi.

As I got back in the car I looked at the doorjamb sticker where the recommended inflation is 32 psi.

I understand that the manufacturer is in the best position to recommend "ideal" psi but what about the whole underinflation issue which is not supposed to be good for safety, efficiency or durability?

What say you?

 

That is "common mis-information."

32 psi is the correct pressure.

To be honest i fid 32 a bit too harsh and keep it at 28
Mind you i have the gls sport with 17 inchers
