Default 2006 Sante Fe tail lights stay lit after brake booster replacement

Hi,

I have a 2006 Hyundai Sante Fe 2.7L 2wd that I changed the brake booster on and now the tail lights stay lit.

Does anyone have any idea of what might be causing this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

When you state "Tailights" do you mean parking lights or stoplights?

There is a rod that comes from the brake pedal and goes to the booster then to the brake master cyl.

On most vehicles that rod is adjustable. If the booster is replaced, the installer must make sure the brake pedal is coming all the way up to cause the stoplight sw to open or the stoplights will stay on. Check that and if that does not correct the problem we can offer another check..

Hi,

Yes, that was the problem. The brake pedal was not pressing a little plunger. I made an adjustment so that it was pressing the plunger and that fixed it.

Thanks for your help
