2005 Santa Fe won't start
I have a 2005 Santa Fe, 2WD, 3.5L V6 engine. Recently my wife noticed that on occasion there was a slight hesitation when she started the car and also, occasionally the clock would reset. I looked on-line and it appeared that a new battery would be in order. Since my car has 95K miles on it and the original battery, I did not think that was too out of order. Well, yesterday my wife called and the car would not start (I had not put the new battery in). I purchased a new battery and.....it still wont start. The car cranks normally, it just wont turn over. I don't know if she flooded the engine yesterday trying to start the car or if there is another issue. I am wondering if perhaps the two issues are unrelated, if I have water in the lines, if it is flooded? I checked the new battery voltage and it is at 12.5v. I definitely smell gas when I tried to start it (so I assume the fuel pump is working?) Any suggestions on what to try next?
One more important note, the temperature has been under 20 to below zero the past few days.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!
