2012 Santa Fe 3.5 V6 Ticking Noice from Manifold, Injectors, Lifters?
Hello!
The engine in my 2012 3.5 L V6 is making pretty loud ticking/clicking noise, and it seems to be coming from the lower intake manifold. It doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warm, and the ticking DOES speed up when revving the engine. There's a link to a video of the noise further down.
Although I realize it could be the lifters, it doesn't QUITE sound that way to me.
Last year it threw a code, and I had to replace the lower intake manifold to resolve it. I suspect it might be the mainfold again. Has anybody ever had this happen, and if so what did the issue turn out to be?
Also, somebody suggested it could be fuel injector solenoids. I disconnected each of the front three injectors individually and the sound did not go away.
I've also changed to full synthetic 5W-20 with a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil and a genuine Hyundai filter.
Thoughts? Thank you in advance!
