Exclamation Code PO341 2008 Santa Fe 2.7L

Im getting this code and the vehicle is in what Im assuming limp mode. I have replaced both cam sensors and when I tested the leads going to them I get 5v on reference and 5v on sensor is it supposed to be 5 or 12 volts going in? And if so why would I only be getting 5v?

The 5 volt figure is correct.

ok thanks so now i just have to figure out why it still throws the code. Im going to replace the timing belt next figure it couldnt hurt and maybe if one cam is slightly off maybe it would throw this code as well. I read somewhere that it fixed the issue for someone else.

No go with the timing belt, have checked all the wiring nothing seems bad, even got a different pcm and it throws the same code. How likely would it be that the wheel the sensor reads could be bad? thats the last thing i can think of.

Just a suggestion, unplug the alternator, clear the code and take the vehicle for a short ride .Interference from some alternators have been known to cause that code to come up when there was nothing wrong with the engine. Easy to do and cost is 0.

alternator wasnt the issue, so far I have checked the wiring, the sensor is brand new, have swapped the ECM with another one and still getting the code. At the point I am going to pull the valve cover and see if maybe its something to do with the cam.

A capable scan tool will tell you what is going on and until you get that done, you may hit the problem and maybe not.

You are looking for physical things when you should be looking for electrical/electronic things .Parts changing can get very disappointing and expensive.
