Found a cure for the hard 2 to 3 shift
For those who are having this problem...
After trying the dealer suggestion of taking both cables off the battery and using a jumper between them and letting them sit. It didn't work. Stopped by my local mechanic to have a trailer hitch installed and mentioned the shifting problem. He put a scan tool on it and adjusted the shifting and it works great now...
