Angry Hard plastic In Auto Trans help!

Hey guys, so disaster struck today.

So the speed sensor failed on my 2001 V6 2.7 4 speed auto. (speedo wasn't working)
I pulled the old one out and some of the hard plastic broke off and dropped into the transmission. 2-3 peices around the 2cm x 2cm.

Basically what do i do.
The sensor seems quite close to the auto sump (depth within 3-6inches and location). Maybe i can take the sump off and collect the peices.

Or will the trans just filter the peices or will it grind them to dust.
Have checked the pieces sink too.

A broken sensor is a "disaster"? I usually think of a hurricane, tornado, earthquake, tsunami, etc as disasters. A 16 year old sensor breaking is more of an annoyance.
