just wonderingg if there is a way to reset the transmission on an 02 santafe v6? just changed the plugs and wires, and if you havnt done that yet have fun. its a pain. but since the change the tranny has been shifting out of 1st gear at about 4000rpmm which is way higher then norm anyone got any ideas?

 

You want to reset the transmission adaptive learn ??

Get the engine & trans oils good and hot.

Remove battery cable (negative),, and touch it (negative cable clamp) to the positive battery post --> long screwdriver works well.. do this for maybe 20 second.

Re-connect negative cable. Start engine, move shifter from P to R, R to N, N to D.. Do this back and forth about 10 times...

Now drive in D, no more than 25% throttle (fudge it as you do not have scan tool to see throttle % in current data).. enough engine speed to go upshift through all gear. Roll down to stop.

Do this a few times till shift seem smooth.. I use Sport Mode next to upshift manual a couple time.. drive and be happy if all seems well.

May be a engine upgrade and /or trans upgrade available (programs).. install GDS and run through ECU upgrade mode and see if anything comes up available.
