Need some advice on my 03 santa fe lx doors
Ok so long story short I thought I was crazy the first time my car locked itself without the keys in it. Thought maybe I was losing it. But then it gets better. I've had no issues with the locks besides my remote working when it wants to haven to be right up on the car to unlock so I figured it just needed a battery....went to my mom's last night and I never lock my doors and always leave my keys in it because we're right in view of it and nobody goes back there so all good right...after about 2 hours and it going on midnight almost we go to leave and find all of our doors are locked. Now we're screwed because ain't nobody awake and my mom didn't have a metal hanger. When my fiance when to check all the door again the driver side back door handle popped out some. So we had a decision to make either rip it off and try to get the door unlocked that way or bust our little window....after 30 mins of shoving our hand through the little opening where the handle was nothing was working. So we decided to try to bust the window to get in. We made 3 attempts and it wouldn't budge (we're both in the fire company and have had to bust many windows) while he went inside to find something else to use I start looking more with the flashlight and found what the handle was attached to. I tried it but nothing. Then I bent down some and looked up and found the other one and gave it a tug...our door opened right up. When we got home I started searching for what the issue could be or if we were just crazy. Then I found this forum and seen it seems to common. I know what part I need to get however I have some questions about it. It is one piece or do I need one for each door? If each door is separate how can I find out which one is the bad one? I've heard the clicking noise mentioned in another post but it's only been once or twice. Anyone with some advice please help.
