I've been advised to replace camshaft sensor. I am getting P0016 code, Bank 1 Sensor A.
Here's the funny thing that no one I know really understands, or will listen to me about and I feel like it could be KEY....When I drive it and it's in gear riding down the road, it rides GREAT, BUT if I allow it to sit in idle like at a light for a few minutes, the engine light flashes and then it will run like ****. HOWEVER If I come to a light, throw it in neutral and use left foot for braking (I'm getting really good at that !), AND keep the gas pedal on a little to keep RPMs at about 1500 every light, the truck never acts stupid !!!???
Does that make ANYONE think that is a 2 + 2 that could add up to 4 ??? That has to mean something to somebody ?? I'm tired of putting money into this thing, but now I have so much invested, I'm stuck getting it running right and running it into the ground. I don't mind, I really love the vehicle believe it or not !!
I've JUST gotten back to work since 'you know' and am terribly broke still scrounging for food ! Don't know how all these ppl are getting all this unemployment money !!?? Anyway, I'm thinking I should find $49 and have a real mechanic put it on a real machine and check ohms and whatever and tell me EXACTLY what is wrong. But my goodness, someone I talk to might understand the relation to keeping RPMs up and it's fine, but nothing, anywhere. I don't want to buy anymore sensors !! Sigh.
Thanks for listening !

Vac line dry rot is a huge problem in Arizona . A dry hose connection at a port will cause leaks, loose fitting hoses , cracked hoses , replace vac hoses as you find one bad . My sons Santa Fe had a vac issue, found the boot from filter box to intake actually split in the seam from dry rot. New one on order - but I wrapped duct tape around it and it runs again
