03 Sonata AC not working
I just purchase an 03 Sonata from small dealer in Ma. I was told they just had thier mechanic charge AC for me. This was agreement prior to sale.
I drove it home , about 45 minutes on highway, the ac was aweful, not cold at all. later it seemed cold while in my driveway but then uncomfortable again. I had a local mech look at it and he measured 49 deg at dash vent and said it was acceptable. But on the hiway it was much warmer. The low pressure line was cold but not extremely. Also the condensor upper left side was extremely hot. Mech said it needed to be replaced. Probably clogged. Is anyone familiar with this problem ?

Gauge set and verify actual pressures..
Another possibility ---> T10, still stumble across an open T10 campaign, done may 6 or so this yr already..
DESCRIPTION:
Some 2003 Sonata and 2003-2004 XG350 air conditioner receiver drier desiccant bags may become detached. If the desiccant bag becomes detached, the performance of the air conditioning system will decrease. A new receiver drier is available and should only be installed as outlined in this Service Bulletin.
VEHICLES AFFECTED:
2003 Sonata's produced beginning November 13, 2002 through April 17, 2003
2003-2004 XG's produced beginning November 14, 2002 through April 17, 2003
The "X" is currenlty a blue dot sticker on the canister, they turn white after while, but paper still there as a white dot --

Salesman told me to drop off with thier mech so I am waiting for thier reply?
Do you mean the high and low pressure lines. Would this show is there is a clog ?
Shouldn't he have checked this before supposely recharging it ?
Thanks fo replying

Need visual on hi and low side gauges running to know where you are
Would this show is there is a clog ?
Yes, if you know how to read the pressures and touch test.
Shouldn't he have checked this before supposely recharging it ?
Cant get accurate numbers if the system low and not running
Thanks fo replying

That just indicates the recall part is installed to the vehicle (updated part sports the blue dot)... I open hood and see no dot, I be getting advisor to run VIN for recall(s).

Salesman called me back finally and said mechanic tested car and it was blowing cold. They diagnosed it and drove it on the highway and it remained cold. They didnt need to fix anything.
It doesnt make sense to me. Unless it ran OK because outside temp today was much dryer and cooler. But could it not work well when it's very hot and humid. That means something is wrong.
