2000 Sonata- Rear Brake replacement
#2
Take a 6" C-clamp and squeeze the back of the caliper against the rotor. Once you have the caliper off the mounting bracket, place a piece of wood (a 1/4 inch slab of masonite works good) on the exposed caliper piston and then finish squeezing the caliper body and piston together. Be mindful that as you squeeze the piston back into the caliper body, you are pushing brake fluid back into the reservoir which may overflow if the level is already high. I keep some cheap turkey basters handy (dollar store specials) to remove excess fluid to avoid spillage. I toss the baster away when I'm done.
