For people searching like I was, go with the white numbers showing on your coil housing. The diagram attached above and at about-com was wrong for my 2002 Sonata 2.7, and so was the Haynes manual. There's obviously some variation with this engine. My coil said the same thing as Jim's in his first post, but it wouldn't run right until everything was put back together - so I tried the other connections and nothing worked. I went back to the coil markings, put it back together and it's running great.
