2011 Sonata Limited Bluetooth
Just got a brand new Sonata Limited (no NAV) - I linked and successfully paired my DroidX waited for the Phonebook to synch then when I hit the CALL button it asks for name or number ok. But when I give a contact name or number it says 'Pardon' and on the third attempt self cancels. I can receive calls ok. One more tried playing music from DroidX - says its outputting thru BT but car radio stays on - nothing from DroidX. Can anyone help me here?
Here's a link to the 25 page "Hyundai Bluetooth Phone Compatibility" chart.

I have a Samsung Android based phone and just picked up a 2011 Sonata GLS so I'm by no means an expert, and my stereo is probably different from the one in the limited. However, I think I can get you started and I will update here as I figure out more.
1. Not sure about the "Pardon" issue... Troubleshooting - You say you can receive calls so this confirms that the car system is communicating with your cell and that the microphone is not faulty. My cursory guess is that if the car did not complete the sync properly, perhaps there is an error when it tries to find a match for your query (although you would think that it should at least recognize the phone number.) As a first step, I would delete the phone from your car's BT list and likewise on the phone. Then pair again. Make sure if the droid asks for authorization or "trust always" that you indicate yes.
2. On the way home from the dealership, I wanted to listen to music, use Google Navigation and be able to receive a call if it came in. Once you are paired, if you set the stereo to MP3 mode, it will assume you are streaming music and will play anything your droid sends. I then had my Phone's music player play a playlist. The music was played in the car. I launched Google Navigator and the prompts came through the car. Navigator automatically mutes the music while it speaks. I think if a phone call comes in, google navigator talks over you, but I havent tested that yet. That said, there is a mute button on the navigator screen. Anyhow, not ideal, as you can only play what is stored on your device, but it works for me as I use it for music already and have a couple hundred songs on it. My experiment today will be to try Vlingo safe reader - reads text messages and emails out loud as they arrive. If it mutes the music and reads, that would be great. Just make sure you think about who is in the car with you before turning that option on! :O
Please post your progress so we can make the most of this option.

Just got a 2011 Santa Fe Limited without Navigation system. My droid X pairs and can receive calls fine but will not make outgoing calls by name, or by name tags. Will only call out by number using the cars voice recognition. My Blackberry Curve 8330 also will not call outgoing by name. Anybody been able to get a Droid X to work correctly on any Hyundai?

"2011 Sonata phonebook won't laod
When start up your car you will hold your phone in your hand and all of sudden on the upper left hand side a message will show PERMISSION take your finger on slide it down and a popup will display and answer the check mark. Then you phonebook will load and a message will stay transfer completed. I had the same problem. "
Mad Medik - how did you put the Sonata in MP3 mode. I have the SE. I can get music from the phone using the headphone jack, have not tried the USB, and make and receive calls through bluetooth; but the Navigation audio does not come through the sound system.

From 2011 Sonata Owner's Manual,
"Using the head unit as Bluetooth
music
The head unit supports A2DP (Audio
Advanced Distribution Profile) and
AVRCP(Audio Video Remote Control
Profile).
Both profiles are available for listening to
MP3 music via Bluetooth cellular phone
supporting above Bluetooth profiles.
To play MP3 music from the Bluetooth
cellular phone, press the [AUX] button
until “MP3 Play” is displayed on the LCD.
Then try playing music by phone.
When playing music from the Bluetooth
cellular phone, the head unit displays
MP3 MODE.
NOTE:
• Not only MP3 files, but all the sounds
that the phone supports can be heard
by the audio system.
• Bluetooth cellular phones must feature
A2DP and AVRCP functions.
• Some A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth
cellular phones may not play music
through the head unit on the first try.

For the record, my Samsung SGH-a197 GoPhone works fine with my 2012 Sonata Nav system. It paired effortlessly, synched my contacts, and all features have been working, including the steering wheel call and hang-up buttons. The sound quality is okay thought not sterling according to my recipients. My father, who was used to talking to me via my OnStar system in my previous car, says the sound is the same, which means he has no trouble understanding me. On my end, the sound is not bad at all.
I had read hundreds of messages regarding problems other Sonata users were having getting the BlueLink Bluetooth system to work with their phones, and I was concerned about getting an inexpensive prepaid phone to work in my just purchased 2012 turbo. I did a lot of research and took a leap with the Samsung SGH-a197 GoPhone, which I got from Amazon for $41, including a $15 usage credit (the phone thus cost $26). I am on the 10¢ per minute plan, which only charges me a dime per minute when I make a call.
So far, I am quite happy with my choice.
