Default Alternative tire options

Had my winter tires stolen and now I'm scrambling to find some used ones before winter. Found lots that were similar in size for a good deal and am wondering if they will work.

Stock is 215 55 r17.
I've found 225 60 r17, 225 55 r17, and 205 50 r17's so far. How much can I move either direction and be ok?

Used sure beats the $700 i paid last year for someone else to now have.

Thanks

Try this calculator;

Stay somewhat close to the OEM tire diameter to keep your speedometer somewhat accurate.

(Are you in Da UP.... eh?)

Default Thanks

Thanks. I found some 225/55/r17's that I'm going to go with. My dealer was no help. The answer was...They probably will fit, but maybe not. Tire dealership had no issue selling them to me for my car, so I'm going to give it a try.

Not in the UP anymore, transplanted to Alaska. :-)

With the 225's you'll pick up about 1/2" in width, and about 1/4" in height... your speedometer will read about 1mph slow.... no biggie. The tire should clear with no problems.

I used to live in Gwinn (KI Sawyer), and at Mile 26 on the Richardson (Eielson).
