car dies on roadside then restarts
we have a 2001 sonata 4 cyl automatic, what could be causing the engine to die then after letting it sit for 10 minutes it restarts and goes another 3 miles and does it again.?
Go to your local Autozone, and they will do an ODB II scan and tell you what the CHECK ENGINE light means for free, no charge. Then come back and tell us what codes you get.

I checked the codes and it can up crank shaft sensor.
Hi,
I had exactly the same problem on my 2002 Sonata and eventually found it wasa coil pack shorting out when the engine warmed up, so if youv'e replaced the crankshaft sensor and the problem persists I would suggest you check this out.
