If possible can you post a few more pix so I can see where to start opening it up ?

It appears there was a heavy drain or maybe a short in the component.that plugged into that port.

Have you acquired a replacement for that plug yet, if not I would suggest not to do anything until you obtain a replacement.

There is an alternative , however, and that is to get an adapter that plugs into the 12 volt port and has a USB opening made for that purpose.

the white interior part of the current usb is gone so a usb cable cannot connect (has to for Apple play to work)

have ordered replacement usb (OEM) but was looking for instructions to remove the current usb connection (about a 2" square part).

can't find any YouTube videos showing how to take trim off to get to the usb part and replace with new on???? 2017 sonata

thanks

Don't know for sure if that 2 in piece pops out and would not recommend trying because once you break something a $2.00 adapter cost can run into $50.00 expense and inconvenience correcting a blunder.
