Steering wheel off by 2 inches.
Worked on daughter-in-laws 2005 Tuscon yesterday and fixed a few issues. Did brake pads only. Now it seems like steering wheel is about 2 inches off to the right. Brakes seem fine and I didn't find out till they were home about 130 miles away. Since I am not there and schedules won't allow till next weekend at the earliest any ideas of what to look for?

…...And you are sure it was not off before you worked on the brakes?
Is the steering wheel off yet the car does not pull to the side?
It pulls to the side and requires counter steering?
Does one brake heat up more than the other or heat up when coasting , not applying the brake?
How did you support the vehicle while working on the brakes? Jack stands I assume. Hopefully you did not bent a tie rod accidentally.
Did you clean and grease the sliders?
You see there are lot of possibilities. Most likely a caliper or a set of pads is stuck. I guess I would re-do the brake work slowly and paying attention to every little detail.

If they drove 130 miles and didn't smell brake pads burning that could be eliminated.
If there is a bent part in the steering section , have them look at the tires for any unusual wear. Something should look different , like wear on the inside of the tires, feather edging if a steering component was damaged.
Would you like to tell us what "few issues" you might have worked on?
Did you by any chance remove the steering wheel or work on the steering column for any reason?

Two inches is off quite a bit.
Check for proper and same tire inflation
Check to make sure both sides of tires are the same size
If that isn't the issue then jack front end up onto jack stands
Turn steering wheel straight and observe the tires
Are both straight or toed in a little
(Toe in is for when the vehicle is moving. The moving forces will push the wheels back and straighten out)
Also inspect suspension for damage.
Must check to see if one side or both sides are out of alignment
If off then tie rod ends must be check
If no damage or faulty then re-adjust tie rod ends to align steering wheel to the center and correct toe in for the tires.
Wheel alignment is highly recommended
