Turned out to be the fuel injectors, so they are replacing under warranty. Thanks for your replies

Would like to see a copy of the work order. Rare for all injectors to go phooey all at once. Did they show replacing the fuel rail press sensor?

Default Apolgies

I apologize for hijacking this thread but i am having this same problem. I've had it to two dealers and multiple mechanics with good reputations. They have replaced the tank fuel pump, high pressure fuel pump, fuel rail pressure sensor, map sensor, gearbox, spark plugs, turbo solenoid actuator, repaired an exhaust leak, and new serpentine and idler. All in trying to hunt down the cause of a stutter that throws it into the mode the Op is describing. If i reset it with my little odb dongle it will run great for the rest of the day and the next day it will go into limp mode about 20 minutes after driving. This started with a stutter about a year ago that didn't throw a code, that's when the dealer replaced the gearbox after fighting tooth and nail to get them to apply for the extended warranty.

We just paid the car off and were hoping to use it to build a down payment. The car also loses oil at a rate of about half a quart a week. They replaced a cracked valve cover gasket to no avail.

Any advice would be appreciated. It seems the mechanics near me can't discover the cause. i am an electrican and know how to troubleshooting. I cant seem to find a mechanic who does anything other than plug the computer in and say there is no code or the code says this but we did that.
