Angry 2017 Santa Fe - Stolen Wheel

Know this has been discussed many time but want some advise. Purchased a 2017 Santa Fe approx 18 months ago. Just found the spare wheel has been stolen. I am shock to see this is a common issue going back years, prior 2009. I am really surprise Hyundai have not managed to resolve the issue without a special upgrade. They supply locking wheel nuts but don't supply a 120GBP device to secure the spare wheel.
Spoke with customer service and they have agreed to pay for the security device but I am really shocked to find this has been going on for years and they never thought to fit the security device as standard. I strongly believe that they should have some responsibility/common sense to fit this device as standard.
I now have to pay 1000GBP to get this resolved. Has anyone take Hyundai to small claims using the "Not fit for purpose" as I believe that as they known there is an issue they have a duty of care to resolve the issue.
Any comment welcome as I an starting to get really disappointed with Hyundai and the service from the dealer. So far car has been in the body shop 11 time, new rear wiring loom and the car is only 18 months old..... But that is another story.

I am in shock that anyone would want to steal a crappy minature spare tire that is practically useless for any use except driving 50 miles. And how did they get it from underneath the car? Was it locked?

We just bought a used 2017 Santa Fe, 25K miles, I spent most of today wiring it for a proportional brake controller and trailer wiring. The underside looked good, wiring harnesses looked almost brand new.

Not sure what you have but my car has a full sized alloy. Wheels, tyre, new mounting kit, security device and labour £1000.00. Would be nice to be informed that this is a high risk loss by the dealer and that 120GBP would protect it. Better still add the security device as free on a 40K car. Feel a little ripped off by Hyundai and the dealer.
Still would like to know how common this is and if anyone has tried small claims on this. I feel it is not fit for purpose.
