2002 Elantra Short in Fan Selector
Good morning. I have a 2002 Elantra and what was first a small problem is now getting to get more important with these hot tempuratures. My fan speed selector know has a short in it. Have to play around with it or flick it to get it working and sometimes it even cuts out when you hit a bump. Now its to the point that its getting really difficult to get it on when it stops working. My biggest problem is terminology, Not even sure what i need to be looking at to replace on it. If someone could suggest what part i need i would be so grateful.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You may be able to obtain a "Blower Motor Speed Switch" from an auto supply store, but you would be ahead of the game to get it from Hyundai.
You would need to provide the year and model of your vehicle also.
There are some parts out there that come close and when we install them, they either don't work properly or don't work at all. Stay with Hyundai parts.
Something that you might check out ,
If the blower motor is pulling too much current it can cause the switch to overheat and become defective and intermittent.. You would need to measure the current draw to verify this.
Of course you could replace the switch and everything might be just fine. Switches usually last a long time without any problems.
