Could anyone tell me if this hose that is hanging is supposed to be connected below the the other hose in the picture? I have a check engine light on for a small evap system leak and have tried all the simple fixes (gas cap etc.) hoping this might have something to do with that but did not want to connect before I knew if it was supposed to.

Transmissions, usually have a breather/vent to allow pressure build up as the fluid heats up to escape and prevent unnecessary leaks.

What we need to verify is where the other end of that hose is connected. Can you get that answer for us, thanks.
