if you see this, just wanted to say thanks. a while ago you mentioned that the odd no start problem could be a bad connection with the crank position sensor. i think you were right on the money with that one

finally got the time to check it out and i was quite happy at how easy the connector is to access (right by the exhaust manifold) and sure enough the pins were discoloured and i notice how easy it would be for moisture to enter this connector. so i got what is hopefully a free fix. clean up the two pins with a small file, dielectric grease on the pins, then sealed the connector with RTV silicone. with any luck, that should take care of it.

only problem is i won't know until the colder weather hits late into the fall
