Question Those annoying Fuel Lever Sensors

Hi !
I'm driving a 2006 Azera Limited.I bought it used & it had about 79,000 miles on it & I've had it for about 4 months now & it has almost 85,000 miles. The problem I am having is the fuel level sensors.A couple of weeks ago the Engine Check light went on & when I did the Code reading I came up with the #'s P2067,P2068 & P0462,P0463.Now the car still rode smoothly & the gas guage didn't show any problems so I erased the codes & all was well.
About a week later, same thing happened & the same codes showed up & I erased them.No problem driving & no gas guage funny stuff. The I was waiting for a light about a week later & I noticed that me gas guage went down to empty even though I had over half a tank left.As soon as I stepped on the gas,it went back to normal with no Check Engine light showing up.
I know that it costs a lot of money to have this corrected or fixed but I'm kinda broke at the moment & I have some questions for you & I hope that you can put my mind at ease.
Do I really need to fix this matter now & if I don't,will it harm the engine in any way ?
Will it hurt the car even if I drive it with the Engine Light on or do I have to keep erasing it ?
I usually drive by checking out the Odometer & I don't need the gas guage to tell me how much I have left anyway.
I would really appreciate your expertise with this.Thank you !!
