2005 Elantra clutch problems
On currently replacing clutch again. This is the fifth time. This is not a warranty item. Dealer inspected this at 12,600 miles and said nothing was wrong. It went at 15000 miles. I currently have 40250 miles on vehicle. Anyone had similar problems?/

I had a problem with a 2005 elantra clutch but I think that I caused it myself by slipping the clutch while backing a utility trailer. When I replaced the clutch I also took out thye check valve in the hydraulic system that prevents you from popping the clutch. 50 thousand miles later (car now has 101000 miles) no problems.

dude, that's like 10k @ clutch. you need to do one of the following...
1-get an automatic. no clutch problems to fix.
2-learn to drive a manual trans.
3-if you do know how to drive a stick, stop doing 3 grand hole shots, ok?? that or step up to a performance clutch...
4-you should have been skeptical after the 1st replacement clutch went bad. how exactly did they 'go bad'?? slipping?? chatter?? noise??
5-this might be a problem not related to the clutch directly, and a premature worn clutch is a *symptom* that the dealer is overlooking. seriously.
have you seen the old clutch discs?? were they worn to the rivets?? have they also replaced the pressure plate?? did any of the old clutches ever slip?? why not take it to a trans shop to see what they think of this since you are going to be paying cash. why didn't you question this earlier?? (maybe you *do* drive it like its a formula one...)
there is so much wrong with this scenario, and it could go in almost any direction depending on the details to this ordeal. i would suggest, however, a second opinion as to why you need a 5fth clutch disc with less than 300,000 miles (and that's only 60k @ disc, which is still sorta low, unless my nephew was trying to drive it...)

Remove the hose from the slave cylinder... pull the small sheet metal restrictor thingie out... it allows you flow fluid freely to release the disc, but restricts fluid flow back to master when releasing pedal, hence the plate is slow to grab the disc... slippage until hooked up.
Side note...... 318,600+ miles on OE clutch here (TOYOTA) .... re-evaluate your left & right foot skills/habits...

2005 Hyundai Clutch Problem
To the jerk that replied that states I don't know how to drive a stick: the civic that was traded in on this car had 130,000 miles on it. I do know how to drive and manual transmission. It is my third new car with a manual transmission.

This car was taken to dealer at 12500 miles. It was never inspected properly since the trans has to be removed to check the clutch. I will further submit this to Mich Attorney Gen. until Lemon law. The shop that worked on this stated it is also a back *** word design. He also told me not to bring the car back again since he tired of working on it. It pulls instead of pushes was his comment. This poor design was also confirmed by Det. Clutch who also sells replacement parts.
The flywheels was measured and turned. It was never replaced.

Poor design.. how ??
Pressure plates for years used in many clutch assembly have been both "push" release and "pull" release...
Only difference is which direction the release bearing moves the diaphram fingers on the pressure plate to release grip on disc to flywheel friction surfaces..

RE clutch problem
My thoughts are that something else is wrong here since clutches keeps wearing out. I did not take this to Hyundai dealer since they want $700 just to check the clutch and approx $1400 to replace it. This was at 40000. I had entire replacement done with new slave cylinder done for $500. These are aftermarket parts are not Hyundai.
As I mentioned earlier my last Honda civic had over 130000 and never a clutch replacement. I do know how to drive a stick. Hyundai states the clutch kit is going bad since it's not oem parts. Those oem parts started going at approx 12000 miles and total replace with cluthch kit and slave cyclinder at 15000 miles. Car was taken to dealer at 12550 and they stated there was nothing wrong when they obviously never inspected properly.
