2017 Elantra - Heat buttons not working, not showing ambient temp
Hello,
I have a 2017 Elantra. I used defrost on the way to work and everything was fine. Later in the day I was unable to switch to any other heat settings. None of the buttons would even light up except for rear defrost. Pressing the buttons made no sounds or change.
When I got home from work I also noticed the dash was not showing the temperature outside. We located the sensor for the ambient temp and just kinda blew it out and cleaned it up a bit. This seems to have fixed to temperature outside showing in the car AND now all of the inside heat buttons work as usual.
Is it possible something wrong with this sensor would make it so I cannot change vent settings in the car? Just not sure if we solved the actual problem or got temporarily lucky.
Thanks,

Now that you know where it is located , make sure the plug connections are clean and tight.Sometimes the sensor can get full of "stuff", just remove it clean it and reinstall it , see if that doesn't produce a permanent solution.
