Alarm "silent mode"
Ive had my 04 elantra gt for awhile now and its never chirped with the alarm for me. Factory security. One day i decided to see what it was and the siren (by the clutch resevoir) is ok when hooked to power and it's not receiving any signal when i hit the buttons so im assuming that there's a procedure to switch the system from silent (no chirp when arming) to audible (chirp when arming). I work at a nissan dealer and we have a setting to change it with the remote but im wondering if hyundai has it too
Hyundai does not chirp when the alarm is set. That's normal. The lights flash but no sound. However, some Hyundai will chirp if you push the button a second time about a second after the first. Not sure if the 04 Elantra does or not.
mine doesnt do it on the 2nd time or when i hit the panic button. the system doesnt even power the siren when the cheap hid kits lights are flashing cuz i hit the alarm button
