Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Another hesitation/stutter question but different

Is that grease or possibly carbon on the insulators of those plugs?
They don't look bad, but still not right.
You might try new plugs and make sure they are tightened to the correct torque and the rubber boots that go over them are also clean and dry.on the inside too.

So I did replace the plugs instead of putting them back in. While doing so I noticed a spot of bare copper showing on one of the coil connectors for cylinder 3. A mouse chewed off the insulation around 1/4 inch long. I put electrical tape on it until I get my hands on some heat shrink.
Took the car for a descent ride and it showed no symptoms. Not sure if it was plug related or if I had an issue with the coil pack wire copper being exposed. So far so good. Will test again tomorrow.
Will let you know if it comes back ......... Thanks all.

Talking [solved] 2008 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 stutter

Symptoms:
When driving 35-45 mph at 1-2000 rpms the car would stutter repeatedly, intermittently lose of power. Once I passed this range the car would drive fine.
To make sure this was NOT a transmission issue. I shifted the car manually into 3rd gear and was able to recreate the issue.

Solution:
The spark plugs were original, OLD very old the car has 175k miles. Was able to replace all 4 for very cheap $100 and the car runs great now. Get a kit with a new wire set, Spark plugs and ignition coil.
stuttering is gone.

Hope my description of the issue and solution helps others.
