Exclamation Confused

Posts: 1 ConfusedI own a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, for the last 5 months I've been having problems with the car cranking up. I have to jump the car every time I cut it off. I'm confused between if it's my battery, my alternator, my starter or WHAT!!! If anybody else has had this problem please tell me what was it you did to fix the problem!

If you can crank and start the engine with a jump start ...
Well, it isn't your starter.

Do you have a multi-meter?
Digital Volt Ohm Meter?
Measure across the battery with the engine off
Reading should be about 12.5 volts
If the voltage is lower then the battery is suspect
If you can take it out
and to an auto parts store then ask to see if they can test it for free

Measure across the battery with the engine running
Reading should be about 14.5 volts
If the battery voltage is good
and the reading with the alternator working is lower than 14.5 volts
Then alternator is suspect
If you can take it out
and to an auto parts store then ask to see if they can test it for free
