2004 Santa Fe 2.4L No Spark
I have a 2004 Santa Fe with 61,600 miles on it. I was driving to the store and it stumbled and lost power and I gave it more gas and continued on to the store. Went to the store and another and then on my way home it died while I was driving about 45mph. I found that I had no spark and it was diagnosed by a local automotive electrical shop as a dead crankshaft position sensor. I had it towed home to fix and found that the timing belt was missing 8 teeth throughout the belt, the countershaft belt was intact so I replaced both belts and the sensor. I buttoned it back up (getting the timing perfectly back in time all three points were spot on) and fired it up. I did not have new accessory drive belts to install so I left them off and fired it up. Started on the first turn. The car ran well, no vibration but the RPM's were somewhere around 2,000-2,5000 and I pulled it out of the drive way to park on the street. When I was about to turn it off it died on its own. Left it alone, the next day I pushed it in the driveway and checked the timing marks, still spot on. But once again I have no spark! Ideas?
