Default Changed Coolant Sensor, now Starts hard

2002 Santa Fe 2.7 v6, 60k

I changed the ECTS-Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor today, which was easy....... afterwards car took 10 secs to crank over, and now hesitating at low speed almost like not enough fuel, than it eventually catches fine...also now have an CEL, which I did not have before.... was I supposed to disconnect the battery to reset everything.... because the engine was warm after it was changed.....
