Thinking about buying a 2011 or 2012 2.0 Turbo Sonata. What are the pitfalls or things to be aware of when it comes to owning a turbo? Will it need repairs or service in the future? How likely is it that this part of the engine will break down and will it make the engine not function? Is it worth another piece of technology that can break on a car? I really need to find out what this is. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, but i know nothing about a turbo. I read it efficiently reuses the exhaust which is why the boost in hp. Some thoughts would be great thanks!

 

Turbos have been used for years and the technology today is light years what it was 25-30 years ago. Nothing to worry about.
