2013 Sonata 2.4 died while driving, started right back up
I was driving down the highway when the car died. There was no warning, no weird noises, it just turned off...the radio and lights were still on though. I pulled it off the road and then started it again and drove all day without issue.
The car has about 97,XXX miles on it. It has been serviced regularly. The battery is original, so that is probably due to be replaced. I did add a full large bottle of Techron complete to it with the tank that it died with, the tank was about half full when it died.
So far I have been told it could be the alternator or the battery, it could be bad gas, or it could be the beginning of a 2.4 failure. No warning lights are on. The only other symptom I have been having is that it seems to hesitate ("buck") if I accelerate hard.
Any ideas before I go into the dealership blind?

Seriously doubtful it is battery or alternator since it started right back up after pulling over.
My "guess" would be electrical.
A wire is shorting or opening or touching another wire
Vibration makes the short happen for a second then engine dies.
No more vibration and everything is fine ... for a while
Good luck

I was just wondering if you figured out what it was because the exact same thing just happened to me on the highway.

My son's 2014 is doing the same thing and can't figure out what the issue is. Any help would be great! Thanks
