After market oil filter

?? Never heard of this. I checked the part number on the one I got from Northstar Hyundai. It's made in Korea. Labeled as a Service kit - Oil filter part number 26320 3C100. The parts I ordered were exactly the same as this, and are supposedly the same for Santa Fe, Sonata, Veracruz with the 3.3

for production dates. Otherwise simply look at the filter cap. Smooth is old style, molded hex nut uses the new kit.

I know the 3.3 was available in 08. I just checked the web and they are out there. For 09 though i can't find a Sonata with anything but a 2.4 . Just went back and checked the web page link. They did make 3.3s for 08 and 09, just different oil filters??

Filters Arrived today!
I told my wife it was a Christmas present for the car. She loves shopping and 'saving' money so it wasn't too hard a sell.

FWIW, if I switch to synthetic oil I will probably end up with 10 year supply of oil filters! I only drive about 10,000 miles a year. Next year with my retirement, it will probably be less.
Don't really care though.
A salesman told me: "you shouldn't change your oil before 6000 miles, otherwise it stays too clean and doesn't have a chance to work".
then he went on to say that if an engines oil stays too clean it will actually hurt the engine!!!
HUH??? I understand that oil will break down over time with heat and use, but too clean is bad? What the heck?? Did I get off the wrong turnip truck?

He's full of crap.
Yes, the oil is too clean bu not too clean to work. It's too clean to be changed. The oil is still good. The reason you don't change the oil too soon is because it's a waste of good oil.
