Exclamation Engine Oil Leak & Shaft Replacement

Hi,

I saw there was some oil leaking and took it in to a shop and they said that it's the engine oil and that it would cost about $425 to replace the shaft on the left side..

Does this make sense?? Any help would be appreciated!

p.s - the engine light is Not on..

Try a $10 axle seal, and clean up the stub on the CV joint that the seal rides on, and refill trans oil to proper level.

Or are we talking a ripped/torn axle boot ?? In the event of the boot... go to Hyundai and buy an inner and outer boot kits and re-boot the axle (provided it is still Hyundai made axle),, dont forget to install fresh clean grease to the joints..

Thanks for your reply.

I took it to Meineke and they said it was the trans fluid and that it was over-filled.. I'm not sure WHO would have over-filled it?? I had an oil change done just a little while ago but that was just an oil change.. nothing to do with trans fluid ..

They said they would have to replace the box first and check if that fixes the problem - quoted approx $200..
