2016 Hyundai Tuscon Transmission Issues
Hopefully, someone can help: Wife just bought a 2016 Hyundai Tuscon limited with Turbo. Over the last 5ish months, whenever we idle at a slow speed, either in traffic or a food drive-thru, the car gets all herky-jerky and legit feels like the car has square wheels when moving forward. It almost feels like the car is skipping forward. Called the dealership and he said this is turbo lag, and after doing a small amount of research, I do not think that this is correct. Has anyone had similar problems?

This is precisely why I went with a base model, and went with peace of mind over horsepower. The problem is the turbo charged engines are equipped with the dual clutch transmissions. I’ve had experienced with those before when I owned a 2012 Ford Focus. It’s the same thing - lags in low gear, and some slippage. Over time, it deteriorated and my transmission went completely kaput at 100k miles. Ford had a bunch of recalls on it, but unfortunately I went over the threshold for free repair, so I went ahead and traded it in for my Hyundai now. If possible, trade it in for a base model. Do you really need to get to 60 mph three seconds faster? Lol
