Default Help...need advice!

I have a 2017 Hyundai Sonata 2.0 Turbo Sport. This is my first Hyundai. Today I scratched the tire rim while parking. This is the second time in about three weeks. Same tire rim...front passenger side both times. Is this normal on these cars because of the tire size or whatever? Also, should I get it checked? Thanks

By a garage. I read online that if there is enough of an indent it could have cracked the rim and it many need to be replaced.

"It many need to be replaced."???
Sorry read that about five times and just couldn't wrap my head around it ... lol

I guess if you're worried about it then buy a new rim?
But, usually steel rims don't crack easily.

Seriously?

Are you seriously trying to blame the car for you're inability to park without hitting the curb?

If you hit it hard enough, you can cause a lot of damage to your wheel and tire, and even your suspension and frame. A lot of this kind of damage can't be seen with the naked eye. You might be able to see a bend or dent in the edge of the rim that could cause air to leak from the tire, or damage the tire itself. If you see a lump or bubble in the side of a tire, it needs to be replaced or you could have a blowout. As for the rim, an impact could bend it into an oval shape which you won't be able to see. Best thing to do is to take it to someone who can balance the wheels for you, and possibly consider getting a 4-wheel alignment. If the wheel is oblong and can't be properly balanced, some body shops have a machine that can bend it back into shape. They can also repair scratches and repaint the rim.
